Jessica Couper, CNM Jess Couper, MSN, CNM received her Master of Science in Nurse Midwifery from Frontier Nursing University in Hyden, KY, and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from William Paterson University in Wayne, NJ. She completed her clinical training for midwifery in NY and NJ, in various home and hospital birth settings. Jess has a passion for natural birth, and for helping women to feel empowered and autonomous in their pregnancies, births, and beyond. During her nursing program, she created and implemented original research and ultimately evaluated over 3,000 participant responses in order to complete this project. Her research focused on the relationship between interpersonal processes of care as exhibited by the primary care provider and the level of maternal satisfaction with the birthing experience. She was grateful to be able to present her research findings across the country during multiple research conferences. Her abstract is published in Nursing Research. Jess would like to continue to add to the growing body of midwifery related research in the future. Jess has been married for over 11 years to her loving husband, Tim, and is the proud mom of their adorable goldendoodle, Ellie, and their human rainbow baby, Juniper Snow. In her spare time you can find her hiking all over NJ, quilting, crafting, gardening, and spending quality time with her family. Jess, who was a staff doula here in 2013-2014, is so thankful to finally be coming home to Wombkeepers as a provider, and can’t wait to meet each incredibly special patient that walks through the door!
