Taniya joined Wombkeeper's as a full-time midwifery team member in 2024, after working several years with another local birth center. Taniya is a warm, caring experienced midwife. Her passion for women’s health began with the births of her own children under the care of midwives, which were some of the most empowering moments of her life and fueled her desire to provide empathetic and evidence-based care to women. Before pursuing her dream of becoming a nurse-midwife, Taniya worked as a nurse in high-risk labor and delivery and postpartum units in downtown Phoenix. She received her master’s and nurse-midwifery degree from Frontier Nursing University. As a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM), Taniya provides care for our healthy, low risk patients throughout pregnancy, labor and delivery, and the postpartum period, as well as routine gynecology care, and performs deliveries in our birth center and will soon be offering hospital births in our two affiliated hospitals, as well. She is a certified pre and post-natal yoga instructor and a breastfeeding champion through Women Infants and Children (WIC). Taniya recognizes women’s innate strength and wisdom. She knows that a woman’s birth experience can be empowering regardless of the birth setting. Taniya is a firm believer in informed consent, perinatal education, and the physiological process of birth. To her, movement, nutrition, and an open mind are critical to a successful birthing journey. Born and raised in New Jersey, Taniya has lived in Arizona since 2014.
